Hulu Still Works on the LINK

Many of you have forwarded the unfortunate news that Boxee was pressured to remove Hulu from its software . This isn't something that we're happy about at Neuros. Many LINK users have installed Boxee (and XBMC) and we eagerly support that and have been in active discussions with Boxee on continuing collaboration.

That being said, we should anticipate more of this kind of activity in this space. As many of you know, the content producers, electronics manufacturers, service providers and a host of other folks are involved in a fast moving, delicate dance. The business is shifting dramatically and rapidly and not every advance will be adopted by every participant. Its inevitable that entrenched interests will apply pressure when they feel existing business models are threatened.

At Neuros, our strategy and device is crafted to anticipate this. The Hulu example is a good one that illustrates it. While it's unfortunate Boxee doesn't have support for Hulu, the Neuros browser still does. If you bought a LINK, you've probably already figured out you can still watch Hulu.

The LINK was designed to be open, adaptable and flexible. Its not just Boxee that's subject to change, this space is rapidly moving (mostly forward but sometimes backwards) and users need a device that can accept those changes. As many of you know, YouTube went HD recently stubleupon's launched a neat video service there's hardly a day that goes by that you don't read about a new video service or change to an existing one.

The LINK is more expensive than the AppleTV and many of the other proprietary devices. We invested more in the hardware so it can be powerful, flexible and keep pace with continuous, rapid changes in this industry. That can't be said of any of the lower cost solutions from TiVo, Roku or any of the other closed devices that connect the Internet and the TV.
