For years my mother has complained about the non-standard way the OSD interfaces with its kernel modules. "You know Joey, I think the good Lord knew a thing or two when he created the standard GNU and Linux module interface." (my mother often gets Linus and the Kernel team confused with God).
"But you and your fancy pants buddies think you can do the good Lord one better with your proprietary monkey business?"
"No ma, it's not that..."
"Shat yer yap! I'm not finished ya bum!..."
and so it went on like this for years, until, like a masked stranger from the west, Turran shows up with a Kernel Porting Project to provide a standard API to those modules that don't have it and to provide open source drivers where possible. Not only will there be standard API's for all, but peace once again at the Born Homestead.
Bless you Turran, whoever you are!
