NEUROS RELEASES MPEG-4 RECORDER FIRMWARE FIX FOR PSP 2.7 AND PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS

CHICAGO, Illinois – May 17, 2006 – Neuros Technology, LLC (www.neurostechnology.com), a leading developer of products that transform the use of portable media devices, proudly announces its quick response to challenges related to the latest version of firmware for the Sony Playstation Portable. Some video files did not initially work after Sony's upgrade, which affected customers who use the MPEG-4 Recorder 2 by Neuros as a "digital VCR." Neuros quickly fixed this technical issue by releasing a firmware solution of their own.

“We don’t believe Sony did this on purpose, but it's ironic that we are expanding our list of supported devices over time while they are reducing theirs,” said Joe Born, Neuros CEO. “We think Sony should join us in embracing the value developers and 3rd parties can add to their devices.

“The Recorder makes the world's content available for the PSP, legally and easily. Consumers have already made clear the enormous value that adds to their PSP. They don't want to be limited to proprietary UMD discs. ”

The Neuros firmware upgrade is offered for free at their Web Site. The update offers several technical and feature enhancements, including doubling the bitrate for recordings made for playback on the iPod. Complete details of the firmware upgrade are also available on the Web site.

About The Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2

The Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 is a digital video recorder for the portable video age that allows users to watch their favorite movies and TV shows anytime, anywhere, on handhelds they already own. It sets up just like a VCR, but records onto digital memory cards instead of VHS tapes so that the video is playable directly on the PSP™ , many Smartphones, and other handheld devices such as PDA’s and Pocket PC’s. Recorded files can also be easily transferred without conversion to the new Video iPod™. Instead of buying proprietary UMD discs or downloading TV shows for a fee from a limited catalog, users can create open digital video files from all the content they already own – with no fees, no conversion, no hassle.
