oh, and if garbage is here, you can actually get the player to start going again after a borked recording without doing a nand format

after you force it off, and start it back up, it sits there forever, but eventually you can shut it down like normal

make sure you press the buttons hard enough - those preset buttons tend to be hard to contact (for me, at least)
