nope, you're supposed to tag your branch on releases, or really important changes, just think of that as a 'named label'

oh, btw, i didn't get the hard reset, but it froze completely on enter in the files menu. this was not happening with my builds previous to this CVS mess, so i surely forgot to add back somethine
