[03:31] <John_Cheese> Hey can someone please help me? I can't get my neuros to start. I've tried with it plugged in/not plugged in with the lock on/off and while holding down and 1+5 and play, but it won't start.
[03:33] <iswm> John_Cheese, have you tried re-seating the brain?
[03:33] <John_Cheese> How do you mean?
[03:34] <John_Cheese> oh yes i have tried
[03:34] <iswm> Do you get the charging screen when it's plugged in?
[03:34] <John_Cheese> nope
[03:35] <John_Cheese> nothing shows up when it's plugged in
[03:36] <Yono> did it ever work?
[03:36] <iswm> Has it been this way right out of the box, or did it stop working later on?
[03:37] <John_Cheese> yes, it worked out of the box. it stopped working the night i installed the garbage firmware and left it charging overnight.
[03:37] <Yono> haha, silly u
[03:37] <Yono> take out the brain
[03:37] <Yono> charge all night
[03:37] <Yono> just the backpack
[03:37] <John_Cheese> seriously? awesome.
[03:38] <Yono> try to connect it (USB) in the morning without the brain
[03:38] <Yono> || if it doesn't work, when you send it in, don't tell them that you loaded GarBage fw ;)
[03:39] <John_Cheese> good idea. is a light supposed to come on near the bottom when it's plugged in? because i don't see it.
[03:39] <John_Cheese> just barely
[03:39] <Yono> yeah, the Gar doesn't always shut down like its supposed to
[03:39] <Yono> the battery might have just worn itself out
[03:40] <John_Cheese> great. alright, so I'll leave just the hard drive charging all night, then in the morning put the brain back on and connect via USB?
[03:40] <Yono> try USB without brain first, just in case its ur brain thats acting funny
[03:41] <Yono> if it works without brain, you can do it with brain
[03:41] <John_Cheese> oh ok, so it will show up on my computer when the brain is detached?
[03:41] <Yono> yep
[03:42] <John_Cheese> ok sounds good. should I try to connect it right now, or should i wait until morning?
[03:42] <Yono> you could try now
[03:42] <John_Cheese> ok
[03:42] <Yono> but if the battery's dead, it probably won't do much
[03:43] <Yono> yeah, the garbage firmware is cool, but I've had some funny stuff happen with shutting down
[03:43] <John_Cheese> yeah, it's not showing up on my computer, but I'm fairly certain that it's dead.
[03:44] <John_Cheese> the little orange light is just barely flickering
[03:44] <Yono> yeah, most likely battery then
[03:44] <Yono> the USB port slightly charges the backpack if its powered (most are)
[03:45] <John_Cheese> alright. I'll let it charge, and if it still doesn't work or it does something strange I'll be back tomorrow. thanks for all the help!
[03:45] <Yono> no problem
[03:45] <Yono> if I'm not here, I read the logs
[17:27] <pitt22> hello
[21:15] <Stonent> I just loaded the latest garbage firmware on my 20gb 1.0 unit (to fix the issue with it always thinking its charging because of a bad connector) and noticed that it crashes when looking throught he "Xtra" stuff when I select car mode.
[21:15] <Stonent> It gives me a 0x0801 error
[21:15] <Stonent> I know car-mode won't work with a bad connector but since it was a crash I thought I'd report it.
[21:19] <Stonent> I did a NAND format as well as was recommended before reporting a bug. The error can be reproduced each time I select "car mode"
