well, can be useful for some things. like editing tags on the fly, or inputting times (e.g. for accurate seeking)

I think text input is pretty important.

there are a lot of applications that are just not possible without some reasonable text input.

and I'm not even thinking of PDA type stuff, but more media focused.

seems pretty farfetched with a 4-way dpad and center

with usb-otg you can add a keyboard if you really need one

my garmin GPS does it and its reasonable for small things.

it's still better than having to name recordings at the PC.

still haven't gotten my Tivo on the home network yet.

I don't know, maybe my home network is screwed up. I'm using a netgear adapter that's on the Tivo approved list.

it sees the access point, but can't get to the network

I'm thinking DHCP isn't working right for some reason.

well apparantly the bottleneck isn't at the bandwidth.

I think it uses 11mbps USB anyhow.

well you'll be lucky to get 11mbps over a wireless network either

I'll let you know when I try again. I'm going to try manually set the IP and DNS and if that doesn't work, I'll take some notes on what it says.
