Here is the binary to update the Beta and Production OSD. Not for Clear housing dev samples with green PCBs (sold prior to September '06).

Several critical bugs remain with recording and playback on this Beta release. If you are uncomfortable with bugs, please do not use this beta release.

1. [2902] Can't record sometimes and OSD gives 'record server error'.
2. [2906] OSD crashes sometimes during long (>2hrs) recording.
3. [2909] Can't play recorded mp4/aac files(5 hours or more) on vlc/quicktime.
4. [2910] Long recordings (>2hrs) of .asf/mp3 produces bad files .

Below is in basic priority order.  For a complete listing and explanation of the Components, see Bugzilla OSD

Firmware - Basic Multimedia Functionality - OSD crash sometimes during longtime recording.   It will keep recording even if file size has up to 4G, and the recording time up to 19 hours. Can't record sometimes and gives 'record server error'.  Can't record ASF files normally, it will go to passthru mode but LED stays red. Can't fast forward to the end of ASF files that have length more than one hour.   iPods cannot play long MP4 files to the end.   You can use iPod with different iTunes versions on the OSD.  Occasionally, Record will prompt 'no storage exist, can't record'  Please continue to give us your repeatable issues and files that don't play properly!

Firmware - Networking and Streaming - Support Wireless bridge but still some logic need to be improved.  Supports Linux, Windows 2000 and Windows XP (if you set the shared folder’s permissions as 'Share with Everyone' and allow full change/edit permissions). OSD can browse shares on Windows Vista.  uPnP shares can be accessed, although development is not complete.

Removable Media/USB - MPEG-2 files have playback issues over USB (particuliarly high bitrate ones, such as those from DVDs). Some MMC card aren't supported to update from Uboot.

IR receiver/Blaster - IR receiver is working. IR Blaster Interface has been implemented and has been modified to inform users whether they have "learned" all keys.

Firmware - Scheduler/Electronic Programming Guide - EPG not implemented yet.  Basic time and channel scheduler has been implemented. . Schedule recording doesn't work sometimes and the schedule list are deleted occasionally.Nerochiaro is working on EPG.

Firmware - User Interface - A more functional GUI has been included in this release.  A new Video Editor (combined with video player) is included.   Recording settings are simpler for mainstream users.

Firmware - Miscellaneous - Host of mostly minor issues remain. Console doesn't work properly. Some new functions have been added in "Coming Soon".

Firmware - Audio Player/Recorder - Xmms2 was implemented. It supports mp3, aac, m4a, flac, ogg, and wma audio files in this release;   The player can fast forward/rewind by holding down these keys. Background playback has been enabled.  Playqueue support has also been implemented.

Multimedia Framework/Neuros API -API requests will be fielded as they come.  Primary focus is on OSDMain Refactoring.  Make sure to attend the IRC meetings.
