Is this wootable?

We have an opportunity to help the attached company launch this product. This is not a neuros product, just an opportunity to... well, I don't know what kind of opportunity it is.

Anyway, is it of interest at $250?

It could sell...

But would sell far better with some sort of TV output, esp. HDTV. Might make it a lot more expensive but I can see the use of such a small computer that hooks up to TVs... but only at that price. Considering the speed, and so on, that's really its only draw.

If it even has one.

Considering, also, that the cheapest dell laptops are approaching $4-500, not so much. But there is a market for tiny machines for other purposes... display cases, that sort of thing.

Or maybe you should ask someone more qualified. Slashdot? :D

And the point is?

I have no idea why, in this day and age of increasingly powerful and affordable laptop and even palmtop computers, you'd market something like this as a "portable" computer, when it lacks not only a display and attached input devices, but even a battery! Sure, maybe a nice simple PC for the kids or to hook up to your entertainment center to do some web browsing during commercials, but a portable computer? This wouldn't be "wootable" even ten years ago in that context.

Looks semi-cool...

I guess the 400MHz part is preferable for heat reasons...wish it used the 600MHz geode. And yono - just swap the HDD :)

Any ideas on price-point? Could make a nice home MP3 player.

Once the PC is in your purse

Once the PC is in your purse how much room do you need for the display?

Definitely

It should sell well. I just wish it had more than 40GB.
