As most of you know, when we launched the R1, we officially launched the Gamma Program on woot. We gave away the attached mugs and there was joy throughout the land, or something like that. Anyway, now we're trying to recruit developers to the fold, and we're attending Linux events, developer conferences, Linux User Groups and other sorts of events that we can crash. It occurs to me that if we had some cool new mugs, well it probably wouldn't really do a damn thing, but it wouldn't be very expensive, and no one would really notice if it fails miserably.
*ahem* so with that big buildup, I imagine you're inspired to pitch in big on this project!
I'm thinking we should create some cool geeky mugs for OSD hackers as giveaways, etc. We'd use them at user groups, etc and give them to developers as thanks, maybe sell some to benefit the EFF or who knows what? It should be something that appeals to hackers. I'm imagining, something like the T-shirts that had the DeCSS code or something that would sell on thinkgeek... It could be a play on fair use or, play off the Gamma logo, etc. Also we have a new mascot for the Neuros/Linux "distribution" if you want to call it that, so he could be incorporated (I'll post shortly).
Anyway, we need artwork that's ready to send to the mug folks, probably www.discountmugs.com or something like that, so if you're up to it, send it to me at jborn at neurostechnology dot com and if you're a winner, we'll give you a case of mugs (12 ) and a Gamma (Clear housing) OSD, and the prestige will be unbelievable, seriously.
