Anyone in the Chicago area, you really should consider attending this crazy hacker thing. It's a kind of "ask not what Neuros can do for you, ask what you can do for Neuros" type of thing:
One of the sessions I noticed was about hacking devices to do something new. Someone needs to stand up and tell these poor folks theres a better way. Anyhow, the offer for sponsorship (Wal-Mart tent and jug of cheap whisky) still stands for anyone willing to pimp our wares to the unsuspecting masses. I would guess that personal hygene is not going to be real important for this thing, so I wouldn't waste a lot of money having your tuxedo taken in for this.
Anyway, it really looks like they put some effort into this thing, I'm going to try to show up myself (but I can't at the time of the session above). Oh yea, link here

Congratulations!
You have been chosen from a long list of applicants (well, um not really) for this prestigious position. We'll be happy to get you an OSD if you're coming down. Ping me on IRC
Pick me, pick me!! (frantically thrusts hand in air)
So, let me get this straight. If I show up for this stellar event you'll stick me in a tent with a bottle of whiskey, provided I spend some time
shouting incomprehensiblypoigniantly pontificating the premium properties of your products? Because that sounds fantastic.I live in Milwaukee, but I could get down there for the weekend, and I think I can stay with a friend. I might be able to cajole some other folks to show up as well and could optionally bring some of my award winning spiked cider, since I currently have a surplus of fixin's.
The one downside is that as I am a mere pauper, I presently own none of your devices. Fortunately I know the products pretty well and follow the google group/blog/wiki, so hopefully that will make up for it.
Let me know if/how that will work and if you want me to bring anything else.
