RELEASE NOTES: OSD 3.26-0.34 (Dec 7, 2006)
http://open.neurostechnology.com/files/osd-3.26-0.34.upk
This release again has multimedia stability improvements, but again a new release is already in the works, so multimedia quality is already expected to improve with the next release. USB/Media Card stability has improved but remains an issue with this release. We've uncovered a VFAT Linux bug that's likely responsible for a lot of this. Main short term priorities are outlined in the CES Plan.

[WHAT'S NEW]
[WHAT'S FIXED]
[KNOWN ISSUES BY COMPONENT]
Below is in basic priority order. For a complete listing and and explanation of the Components, see Bugzilla OSD
Firmware- Basic Multimedia Functionality - New bug introduced in this release .mp4 file recording often crashes after 10-15 min. Will be fixed in next release. Otherwise, big improvements again on this release but stability will improve further on the next release. Please continue to give us your repeatable issues! Vague comments like "this file does not work," or "A/V sync issue" will NOT help much.PAL/NTSC input auto-detect on the go is not supported yet, you'll need to turn on Video-In signal before powering up OSD. Field inversion noticeable during recording in a random order. There is frame dropping issues during recording for SD/MS card. JPEGs over 800x600 cannot yet be displayed.
Firmware- Networking and Streaming - Basic internal operation is working, but no user functionality has been enabled. Will be worked on by internal team once basic functionality is working. We expect this to be enabled in the next release (next week)
Removable Media/USB - USB should be more stable in this release (no known Mass Storage device not working with OSD so far- but still some issues at high bitrates). SD card may still have some performance issues. MS/SD card is unstable if the capacity is greater than 1GB.Sometimes USB insert/pull-out causes crashCF card is unstable, sometimes cause system reboot during, especially when remote control buttons are pressed during card recognition period.
IR receiver/Blaster - IR receiver working, IR Blaster production Interface not implemented yet (placeholder now). Will be required for Scheduler and will be worked on once basic multimedia and removable media is stable.
Firmware- Scheduler/EPG - not implemented yet. Basic time and channel scheduler will be first.
Firmware- User Interface - Many changes needed, Various A/V recording/playback details (scroll bar, ID3 display etc) are to be completed. Will be worked on my internal team once basic functionality is working (basic multimedia, removable media, Scheduler). Community input sought.
Firmware-Miscellaneous - Host of mostly minor issues remain. Console doesn't work properly, among others.
Firmware- Audio Player/Recorder - Will be worked on my internal team once basic functionality is working (basic multimedia, removable media, Scheduler). Current focus is on porting/integrating XMMS2
Multimedia Framework/Neuros API - A big thanks to Nerochiaro for taking ownership of this component, main thrust of developer interface work is currently on Project Lobster (see for status updates) Probably after year end more focus will go to additional API requests.

Comments
VFAT bug?
>>We've uncovered a VFAT Linux bug that's likely responsible for a lot of this.
So, is this the mount -sync -noatime problem, or is it something more serious? I had mentioned that using -noatime and -sync might clear up some problems with corruption on removable media.
MD5 Hash
I've downloaded re.upk several times but just can't make md5 to match. I always got 51625841590bd30360f7b117e653a8d4 instead of 97d78f2bea10ae062c082cb9503c1b52 (as it is in osd-3.26-0.34.md5.txt).
What may be wrong?
