    [KNOWN ISSUES BY COMPONENT]

Below is in basic priority order.  For a complete listing and explanation of the Components, see Bugzilla OSD

Firmware- Basic Multimedia Functionality -OSD crashes if record mp4 and asf file for more than two hours or three hours.  Will be fixed in future. Please continue to give us your repeatable issues! Vague comments like "this file does not work," or "A/V sync issue" will NOT help much. the video picture (not pass thru) are grayed if the input is PAL, it will display correctly if record then playback a video files. There is a big improvement that there is no obvious frame dropping issues during recording for MS card and usb disk. But in this release it still can’t use auto-recording function.

Firmware- Networking and Streaming - Can support Windows 2000 and Linux but still can ‘t support Windows XP.But OSD slows-down when is in samba if network is disconnected suddenly .

Removable Media/USB - USB should be more stable in this release but still some issues at high bitrates.Sometimes, it requires being plugged in two or three times before it can be detected.

IR receiver/Blaster - IR receiver is working. IR Blaster Interface has been implemented,And has been modified to inform users whether you have learn the all keys. PLEASE TEST THIS FUNCTIONALITY, it is new!

Firmware- Scheduler/EPG - EPG not implemented yet.  Basic time and channel scheduler has been implemented, but PLEASE TEST, it's new..

Firmware- User Interface - Many changes, optimized the display of listbox and editbox, fixed IME display in input number. Also added a neuros logo in osd home page. .

Firmware-Miscellaneous - Host of mostly minor issues remain. Console doesn't work properly, but it can work normally but not refresh when input in a word.

Firmware- Audio Player/Recorder - Can’t record audio in this release.

Multimedia Framework/Neuros API - A big thanks to Nerochiaro for taking ownership of this component, main thrust of developer interface work is currently on Project Lobster (see for status updates) Additional API requests will be fielded as they come.

Picture Quality

When trying to record from my VCR (in an attempt to take all the VHS tapes I have and get them into digital form) I have noticed that the Neuros causes a right to left scrolling line so-to-speak across the video that is only there when the neuros is recording (i.e. it's not there when I simply watch the video). Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Audio

It also appears that the audio track is a minute or so behind the film when I play it back in quicktime. Is this a known issue?

JPG Files

I have lost the ability to view JPG files in this release.

Quick Fix for WinXP Samba Share Searching Woes

After reading through this thread:

http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2004-December/038693.html

I can confirm that turning on "Messenger Service" will make all shares from a winxp machine visible to the OSD!

I am sure there are some security issues (which are discussed in the thread) ... but who cares... now I don't have to telnet to my OSD to mount my media share!!

THis was known

This fix was already known. however microsoft disables messenger service because viri run rapid over networks with it enabled.
