Today I am releasing the first full NAS (Network Attached Storage) version of 3.28-0.63 based firmware. I have tested this firmware as much as possible, and did not include files in the upk that could damage the OSD. This is however an unofficial release, and may have undesired results. The OSD's flashing process is currently very broken. It is very difficult to make a upk image that will successfully flash onto the osd, so very many extra steps have to be taken inorder to flash this firmware. What does this version change? Well first off, it should be an exact copy of the Official 3.28-0.63 firmware except now when you go to your Windows "My Network Places" your OSD will show up under MSHOME workgroup as OSD. Items needed: Already have updated to 3.28-0.63 firmware, Serial Cable, CF-Card, and the upk in a link that follows. What does this version change? Well first off, it should be an exact copy of the Official 3.28-0.63 firmware except now when you go to your Windows "My Network Places" your OSD will show up under MSHOME workgroup as OSD. This shares the media folder ( The Browse Menu on the TV Gui) and gives writable access to your media cards and usb drives. These are the steps for flashing that worked for me: Steps for Flashing: #1.) Bring Up the Serial Console #2.) Unplug and Re-plugin the OSD press a key to stop autoboot (in the serial console) #3.) Type the following: setenv cur_uboot 0.64 #4.) Prese Enter Key #5.) Type the following: saveenv #6.) Download (Right Click Save-AS) http://www.limesg.com/osd/firmware/0.2.0/NAS-Testing-0.2.0.upk #7.) copy NAS-Testing-0.2.0.upk to Compact Flash Card in a directory called newpackage #8.) rename NAS-Testing-0.2.0.upk to r3.upk #9.) umount/safely remove the CF card and place it into the OSD #10.) reboot the OSD. #11.) wait to finish flashing. It will then bootup. #12.) Remove the Compact Flash Card, and reboot again. #13.) complete To Reflash(revert) with 3.28-0.63 Official: #1.) Bring Up the Serial Console #2.)
