Waterproof Helmet Camera Type Stuff: Windsurfing and Kayaking with the OSD!

From Australian Brett Manners:

"Joe,

Attached are some pics of/from the water proof OSD. On the windsurfer you can see the OSD unit on the boom near the mast. I want to edit up something decent video wise which I am working on. I will send it to you when it's finished.

Basic details of the system:
- 11.1V 2500mAh LiPo battery (from www.batteryspace.com)
- Custom machined Acetal (plastic) casing with tinted polycarbonate cover
- custom 5V and 11V supply for OSD and camera, switched on by waving        magnet over reed switch (reduces penetrations through the housing)
- recording to 2Gb SD card
- Using automatic record feature to stop start recording by unplugging camera from waterproof box.
- Bullet camera is a NTSC 480 TV line Sony from www.rfconcepts.co.uk (very robust!)
- can be attached to windsurfer mast, helmet, kayak paddle, front of kayak etc

Your offer to overlook any warranty violations is very generous. Generally when I buy something I usually void the warranty straight away as I have an inbuilt desire to pull things apart to see how they work :-)

I think I will have to put the OSD in a small backpack and make a wireless link to the camera on the mast to reduce exposure to vibration. At the same time I might add a USB wireless network adapter to download the files on the card after.

Enjoy
Brett"
