Neuros folks may remember Fernando Cassia from his participation in Neuros forums and mailing lists. He's written an article in the Inquirer about Neuros and particularly his experience with his device from Alpha to today including his own debugging of some issues. He did a nice job of capturing the benefit that Neuros gets from this user participation, not only in good feelings, but actual debugging in this case, and more typically feedback. There is a way to "release early" even in hardware as long as you are open with your customers.
Check it out: How the Inquirer Helped Debug OSD Hardware Thanks for all you attention Fernando!
